A. STUDENT ATTENDANCE IN THEORY AND PRACTICAL
- A candidate should have minimum 80% attendance for the theory and 100% attendance in each of the practical areas.
- A candidate who is absent for a total of more than 60 days continuously or interrupted with in a period of three months during an academic year shall not be eligible to continue the course with the same batch of the students.
- She may obtain special sanction for readmission with junior batch from higher authorities (Academic and administrative)
- A candidate will be given seven weeks of vacation including holidays in each year.
- Candidates are not entitled to avail 15 days of preparatory holidays before commencement of their Board examination. However, no preparatory holidays are given for supplementary examination.
- The candidate must utilize the preparatory holidays in the college campus for revision classes as
- instructed by the class coordinator.
- The candidates have to get the leave sanctioned from the Principal through the proper channel
- before availing the leave.
- Unauthorized absence of candidate will call for strict disciplinary actions. Absenteeism of any kind will be viewed serious
B. DRESS CODE: -
- Green and Blue Kurta with Green & blue salwar and White apron with Navy Blue/Black cardigan/ Sweater. (In winter)
C. DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS: -
SCHOOL AND CLASSROOM PREMISES-
- Students shall maintain and enforce strict discipline within the college campus. The cell phone is prohibited in the college campus and if a student is found carrying a cell phone, it will be taken away and handed over to the Principal. To monitor the movement of the students in the college and prevent students from loitering around in the corridors during the college hours.
- To ensure that all the students attend classes without bunking and prevent them from leaving college early. Please note that no student can leave the college early without prior permission from the concerned authorities.
- If any damage is caused to the college property by any student/group of students, the cost of the same will be recovered with a fine from the said student/group followed by disciplinary action.
- If the student engaged in any activity which is found to be in disciplinary in nature, action will be taken based on the rules and regulations of the college.
HOSPITAL PREMISES
- The clinical experience for nursing students is a learning experience under the direction of the school and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.
- Nursing students are not to be used in lieu of appropriate clinical staffing.
- The instructor/ appointed staff designee must be in the clinical area and/or immediately available when students are providing care. Exact determination of details of unique experiences, such as leadership and observation will be determined prior to clinical rotation with direct input from the Clinical Director, faculty of the school, and Clinical Education Services. Advanced Practice Nurses - Individual objectives will determine specific care and treatments provided by the advanced practice nurse commensurate with education, skills, roles, and supervision.
- The appointed staff designee may be used to assist with the education/ socialization of the student in specific circumstances as agreed upon by the faculty of the school, the Clinical Director of the floor/ unit and Clinical Education Services.
- The school shall provide the student appropriate content and clinical application of skills commensurate to skills and knowledge required for patient care. The instructor, prior to the clinical rotation, will discuss the skills and care that will be performed by the students with the Clinical Director/ Patient Care Coordinator.
- Students may perform procedures and treatments commensurate with education attainment of these skills with some exceptions.
- Students may not perform the following: Witnessing legal documents Taking telephone/ verbal orders Administering the following medications:
- Intravenous chemotherapy
- Research drugs
- Moderate sedation
- Tetanus Antitoxin
- Histamine
- Administering blood.
- Administering oxytocin drugs until the placenta has been delivered.
- For PEDIATRIC and ADULT patients, the approved supervising RN assigned to the patient or the faculty member must review all medications with the student before administration and be present at the bedside at the time the medication is given.
- Students may not provide care for patients under the age of 12 in an intensive care setting.
EXAMINATION POLICY (THEORY AND PRACTICAL)
- Students should obtain minimum, of 50% marks for each subject in theory and practical separately to be eligible
- to appear for board examination
- There will be periodic unit tests for each subject in theory and every student is liable to write each test given by the individual teacher
- A minimum of 3 written sessional examinations will be given in each subject for internal assessment.
- Internal assessment consists of the cumulative average of all the test given for a particular subject and the other assignments (eg, Seminar, Project, presentation etc) provided in a given subject.
- The Weightage given for written examination is 70%.
- The Weightage given for assignment is 30%.
- Internal assessment for practical's constitute continuous evaluation, other assignments like case study, drug file, patient assessment and model practical examination.
- Weightage for each of these will be given in the course plan.
- Clinical evaluation is based on the planned criteria according to clinical objectives Practical exam will be given at
- the end of clinical experience for each course.
- Students who have not completed the course assignments, attendance and adequate clinical experience will not
- be allowed to give practical examination
- No written assignment will be the substitute for sessional examinations.
- Periodic evaluation (theory/practical) will be communicated to students and parents within two weeks of completion of examinations.
Assignments/projects should be submitted on time as prescribed by the teacher and delay will be a reason for reduction of internal marks.
Parents will be informed about the performance and progress of the students, due consideration should be provided by the parents towards this matter.
1. CLASSROOM POLICY
- Students should observe cleanliness of classroom and compound.
- Students should be well groomed, when they appear in class
- Students should maintain silence in class, corridor, library and in College compound other than class hours also.
- Classroom furniture should be maintained in good order. Students are responsible for any damage to the classroom furniture in the form of breakage/scribbling. Amount for the repair/replacement of furniture will be deducted from the caution deposit of all the students in that particular class.
- Keeping valuables are the responsibility of each student. College won't take any responsibility for missing/damage of valuable items of students.
- Ragging in any form (verbal or physical) is not allowed and will be reported to the police without delay.
- Uses of mobile phone by students are strictly prohibited in class rooms and college premises.
- Uses of drugs/smoking/alcoholism etc are strictly prohibited in class rooms
- Any type of in disciplinary behavior (whistling, passing commands, shouting etc) towards teachers, other students or staff will not be tolerated and will be a reason for major disciplinary actions.
- Any change in the contact address/number should be informed to the college (by the parents), in the right time. College will not be responsible for any missing of information/communication due to the change in address
- Visiting time for principal is 1pm -2 pm with prior permission. (Both students and parents)
- Each student should report for class in the specified time. Late comers will not be allowed in class or else will be asked to attend the classes by standing.
- Students should inform class teacher/concerned teacher about absenteeism in advance and should submit leave letter in the right time. Absenteeism from class/clinical without prior information will be considered as a serious.
C. POLICY FOR STUDENTS TO FILE GRIEVANCE REGARDING RESULT: -
- For Rechecking/Re-evaluation student has to apply within five working days after the notification of the result.
- Students are informed to apply for Rechecking/ Re-evaluation online through result link available on the site of examination panel.
- Student has to click on apply to Rechecking or Re-evaluation, which is applicable, given on result page and select the subjects for applying rechecking/Re-evaluation.
- Print the online application, sign it and submit to the university with requisite fee.
- Student has to verify the subject for Rechecking/ Re-evaluation before taking the print. Once the print commend is given, no addition/alteration will be permitted.
- Rechecking is permitted in all semesters of all courses/subjects.
- In Re-Checking. Answer books are checked just to ensure that all the questions attempted by the candidate have been valued, the marks awarded have been totally corrected and the total marks have been correctly carried over to the result statement.
- Re-evaluation is permitted only in board theory Examination.
