Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery ANM in Nursing is a two-year undergraduate certificate-level course in Medical Nursing. Nursing is the medical specialty of caring for the sick, and maternity care is a profession that focuses on providing help to the mother during work and pregnancy. Nursing is an important part of healthcare sector. Nurses have the responsibility to ensure the smooth functioning of health organisations such as Hospitals, Dispensaries, NGO’s, etc.

Subjects covered within this course’s curriculum include Anatomy & Physiology, Biological Science, Microbiology, Behavioural Science, Sociology, Psychology, Fundamentals of Nursing, and First Aid.

The program aims to produce skilled general nurses, with qualities such as:

• Flexibility, adaptability, empathy, organizational skills and time management.
• Leadership skills, determination and tenacity, ability to conduct research.
• Physical fitness.
• Good communication and observation skills which are crucial to good nursing.
• Constant alertness to changes in patients’ conditions and subsequent implications in terms of care.

ANM Nursing makes students capable of finding job opportunities in various nursing, midwifery and other related jobs in health organisations. Students can also opt for pursuing higher studies such as B.Sc. Nursing degree.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

ANM. (AUXILLARY NURSING & MIDWIFERY)

• ANM course duration is 2 years.
• The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
• The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
• The candidate must have pass 10+2 and have secured at least 50% of marks.
• The minimum educational requirements shall be 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology. Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health Care Science- Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board.
• Student shall be medically fit.
• Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open School.
• Student shall be admitted once in a year.
• The student should pass the entrance exam and the interview conducted by the admission committee.
